Project

The Exeter Cathedral exhibition showcases the remarkable history and heritage of the Cathedral’s Library & Archive, whose collections have been catalogued since at least 1327.

ABG Design collaborated closely with the Cathedral Library team to craft storylines, define themes, and establish a clear information hierarchy, ensuring the exhibition communicated the right tone of voice for a diverse audience, from casual visitors to specialist researchers.

A standout feature of the design is its adaptable oak panelling, carefully specified to complement the Cathedral’s architectural interiors. This allows the space to transform seamlessly from a ‘closed, static’ mode to a fully interpretive exhibition, giving the team control over the presentation and enabling a tailored experience for different visitor groups.
