Project

There has been a place of Christian worship on the Bath Abbey site for well over a thousand years. Across that time the Abbey has been rebuilt, reimagined, and reshaped, leaving a rich and layered story embedded in its fabric.

After years of working closely with the Abbey team, ABG Design was thrilled to be invited to produce the official visitor guidebook, giving audiences a clear and engaging way into this remarkable place.

Solution

ABG designed a guidebook of over 100 pages that traces Bath Abbey’s history from the 7th century to today. The book combines accessible storytelling with immersive imagery, guiding readers through the Abbey’s key spaces, features, and moments in time.

Thoughtful guidebook design and contemporary graphic design create a page-by-page journey that balances atmosphere with clarity for different visitor needs. The result is a richly crafted publication that deepens understanding on site and serves as a lasting takeaway, including a celebration of the Abbey’s extraordinary fan-vaulted ceiling.
